The blade carries on spinning for longer than usual after the trigger is released, instead of being stopped quickly by the saw's automatic electric brake
A delay in brake engagement, which DeWalt's own manual says can happen occasionally and is cleared by cycling the switch — or, if it persists, worn motor brushes losing the contact the brake circuit depends on

Mitre saw cuts are out of square — 90° cuts show a visible gap against a square, and mitred frames won't close up
Fence or bevel calibration drift — the saw's reference surfaces no longer match the scale detents, usually after transport, a knock, or dust packed behind the fence
