Einhell Faults
9 documented Einhell faults, covering GE-BC 43 AS, GC-PC 1335/1 I, GC-PM 52/2 S HW, GC-MT 2236, GC-CH 18/40 Li, TC-HP 1538 PC, GP-LC 36/40 Li BL, GE-CM 36 Li and TE-CD 18 Li. Each entry sets out the symptom as owners report it, the most likely cause, the checks that confirm or rule it out, and whether the repair is worth doing. Everything here is compiled and cross-checked from manufacturer documentation and owner reports — the sources are listed on every page.
Documented faults
- Einhell GE-BC 43 AS
The petrol engine won't start at all, even after repeated pulls on the starter cord
Einhell's own troubleshooting table gives three causes for exactly this fault, in this order: the cold/warm-start procedure wasn't followed correctly, the spark plug is sooted or damp, or the carburettor needs adjusting — only the last of those needs a service centre
Motor & Drive 2026-10-27 - Einhell GC-PC 1335/1 I
The guide bar and chain run dry during cutting and get noticeably hot, even though the saw starts and runs normally
Einhell's own troubleshooting table gives two causes for insufficient chain lubrication: an empty oil tank, or the oil-entry groove on the guide rail that feeds the automatic oiler being blocked or displaced
Mechanical & Motion 2026-10-27 - Einhell GC-PM 52/2 S HW
The mower runs but vibrates intensively and doesn't operate smoothly, rather than running with its normal steady shake
Einhell's own troubleshooting table gives three causes, in this order: loose bolts somewhere on the machine, a loose blade attachment, or an imbalanced blade — the first two are a tightening check, the third needs the blade itself addressed
Mechanical & Motion 2026-10-27 - Einhell GC-MT 2236
The star-type hoes turn weakly or stop rotating altogether under load, even though the engine runs normally
Einhell's own troubleshooting table gives two causes for falling drive power — the clutch cable (Bowden wire) has too much play, or the V-belt that drives the gear unit has come loose — and only the first has a published owner-level adjustment
Mechanical & Motion 2026-10-27 - Einhell GC-CH 18/40 Li
The hedge trimmer won't run, or the cutters stop the moment you shift your grip, even though the battery shows charge
Almost always the two-handed safety switch — Einhell's design requires both handle switches held down together, and releasing either one stops the cutters instantly — followed by a jammed blade or a battery that isn't seated, charged, or (rarely) genuinely defective
Guards & Safety 2026-10-13 - Einhell TC-HP 1538 PC
The pressure washer switches on and the motor runs, but little or no pressure builds up, or the pressure surges rather than stays steady
Einhell's own fault table routes this almost entirely through the water side, not the pump: a closed tap, a clogged intake filter, or air drawn in through the supply hose or its connectors, with an oversized or damaged nozzle as the remaining cause — every one of them a check anyone can do without tools
Pumps & Pressure 2026-10-13 - Einhell GP-LC 36/40 Li BL
The chainsaw won't run at all when the trigger's pulled, or it starts then cuts in and out
Most often the chain brake (front hand guard) is tripped so the saw refuses to run at all, or the battery isn't making contact — both free checks. If it starts but cuts in and out, Einhell's own table routes every cause of that straight to a workshop, with no user-level fix given
Guards & Safety 2026-10-12 - Einhell GE-CM 36 Li
The mower won't start at all — nothing happens when the switching bar is squeezed
Usually one of several ordinary conditions the mower is designed to refuse to start under — long grass, a clogged housing, the handlebar safety switch not pressed first, or a battery that isn't seated — rather than a genuine fault; a defective capacitor or disconnected motor terminal is the one cause on Einhell's own list that needs a service centre
Motor & Drive 2026-10-06 - Einhell TE-CD 18 Li
Drill is completely unresponsive even though the battery's own charge-level LEDs show it's fully charged
The battery isn't fully seated in the tool, or the contact points on the battery and/or tool have picked up dirt or light corrosion — the battery's charge LEDs work independently of the tool-side contacts, so a battery can genuinely show 'full' while still failing to make a working connection with the tool
